Early days
Sabke Morde was formed by Siavash Sabke Morde on October 31th, 2008. Sabke Morde is an independent one-man band/project. Because of this independent nature, band struggled for many years to develop an efficient way to practice, play, record and release its music.
After releasing some demos and singles, Sabke Morde started to work on its first album.
1st album: 2017 – Khatabeye Tadfin
On January 2017, Sabke Morde started to record its debut album. The drums were recorded in the studio and the remaining instruments and vocals were recorded in Siavash’s home studio. This album was released on December 28th, 2017. Click here to download the debut album.
The debut album consists of 6 tracks. Lyrics of four of these tracks (tracks 2, 3, 5 and 6) are Ahmad Shamlou poems (or based on them), and lyrics of two other tracks (tracks 1 and 4) are written by the band’s sole member.
2nd album: 2020 – PeeranSal
On October 2018, Sabke Morde started to record its 2nd album. This one is a story driven concept album. Started to write the story as a novel, but for many reasons, it turned into poetry and finally a long musical piece, later divided into tracks to form an album. It’s a fictional story of an old man living somewhere unspecified, in some unknown era, with an abrupt fate ahead. In the story, there are some vague references to the 14th~17th century, but overall it’s a work of fiction.
For the artwork, collaborated with a local talented young painter, Mostofi. Based on the story and some elements of the Dutch Golden Age paintings, Mostofi did the oil painting. This album was released on June 20, 2020. Click here for more information.
Short Film: You Are Not Alive
Sabke Morde put together an experimental/musical short film named “You Are Not Alive”. It was released in November, 2021. You can watch the short film here.
3rd album: 2024
These days, Sabke Morde is working on the 3rd album; a story-driven concept album. The story, narrative, lyrics, and compositions are complete. Started the recording process and currently is in the process of tracking drums. Next stop would be recording other instruments and vocals.
